Pallet Transport Advice

When you’re preparing your pallet for collection here are some hints and tips on how to get the best out of our pallet distribution service:
DO
DO use ratchet straps to fasten large shaped articles such as heavy mechanical parts or awkwardly shaped articles.
DO use plastic shrink wrap where possible especially when securing boxes.
DO put big and bulky items on the bottom of the pallet. Weight distribution is important in keeping the goods on the pallet.
DO weigh your pallets as a tail lift will lift a maximum of 1000kgs.
DO check up on pallet sizes. It is very important you know the difference in pallet sizes in order to not overpay, and for our drivers to know what will be loaded onto the truck.
DO check any engines or gearboxes for liquids to ensure they will not leak during transport.
DO remember that you can track your pallet delivery. Consignments to be tracked in real time using Telematics which is fitted to all our vehicles.
DONT
DON’T allow items to overhang the edges of the pallet where they can get damaged.
DONT leave gaps. Make sure there are no spaces between boxes to maximize the space and reduce the chances of your boxes your boxes sliding.
DONT forget to mention any special pallet delivery or pickup requirements such as the size of the lorry or access that may be of importance to the driver. Our transport service ranges from small vans to 45 ft articulated trucks.
DON’T use rotten pallets. This may lead to goods falling off and getting damaged or destroyed
